港安历史
于六十年代后期，米勒耳医生（Dr. Harry Miller）与两位教会传道人，罗威牧师（Pastor Ezra Longway）及米伦耳牧师（Pastor Robert Milne），鼓励当时的基督复临安息日会发展委员会在本地兴建一所医院。
本院创办人凭著此崇高理念，不辞劳苦地四出寻找热心人士支持此项建院计划。
承蒙前鳄鱼恤有限公司主席陈俊博士率先捐赠一百万港元，并在各界人士及社会机构的鼎力赞助下，现时的医院大楼得以建成。
港安医院提供多元化的医疗服务，以满足病人各方面的需要。现时医院共有病床108张。本院是一间具规模的非牟利机构，并无接受政府津贴或公益金等资助，收入主要源自为病人服务所收取的费用，除去日常所需支出外，所有盈馀均用作更新先进仪器和设施，以及扩展更多新服务的用途上。

Hospital Background
Established by the Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care in 1992, Bradbury Hospice was the first institution in Hong Kong to provide specialist hospice care. Its management was transferred to the Hospital Authority from 1 April 1995. Besides offering medical services to terminally-ill cancer patients, Bradbury Hospice also supports hospice education and research.
Situated in a quiet environment at Shatin, Bradbury Hospice has a staff of 65. Its six wards can accommodate 26 patients, who must be referred by doctors.
Care is provided at home or in the hospice wards, and a Day Care Centre offers therapeutic activities. In addition to medical and nursing care to relieve pain, staff of Bradbury Hospice also look after the emotional and spiritual needs of its patients and their families throughout their care and bereavement period.
A hospital support team coordinates with medical staff of other hospitals to ensure patients receive a continuum of care. A bereavement team consisting of a clinical psychologist and social worker gives comprehensive bereavement support to patients' relatives.
The education service of Bradbury Hospice meets the demand for training and development of medical professionals, including undergraduate medical students, doctors, nurses and other professionals, through workshops, seminars and courses. Hospital Background
The Cheshire Home, Shatin was founded by the Hong Kong Cheshire Home Foundation. It is an extended care hospital with 296 beds. It provides infirmary care for the severely disabled patients who need long-term treatment / care and infirmary patients from the Central Infirmary Waiting List. With a staff of 172, the hospital provides services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work service and X-ray. Speech therapy and dietetic service are also available. The home also provides mid-way accommodation for disabled residents to help them re-integrate into the community. There is also respite service for disabled people living with their families.
A homely environment is offered in the chalets with domestic appliances like washing machine, home furniture, etc. To enhance the patientsˇ sense of belonging, residents of the Disabled Unit are encouraged to participate in the daily management of their own activities and livelihood. Residents whose conditions permit are helped to adjust back to living in the community.
Cheshire Home encourages patients to actively participate in community, recreational and religious activities run with the assistance of volunteers. Some residents are working in sheltered workshops.
"Activities of Daily Living Assessment & Training Room" was set up for preparing disabled persons re-integration into mainstream society. The physiotherapy satellite gymnasia were set up to enhance rehabilitation. Other facilities like outdoor activity ground, roof top garden and wheelchair training track allow more choices for patients' activities and exercise. Wireless nurse call system and ceiling hoist system were installed to enhance patientsˇ safety and mobility. All patient toilets were renovated with upgraded facilities. Shatin Hospital commenced operation on December 2, 1991 and has been in full function since February 1, 1994. Formerly known as Shatin Infirmary and Convalescent Hospital, Shatin Hospital comprises 650 beds, 80 psychiatric day places, 40 geriatric day places and 40 hospice and palliative day places. The Hospital is located at 33, A Kung Kok Street, Ma On Shan. It is surrounded by hills on three sides and it commands a beautiful view of the Shing Mun River and Penfold Park. Other institutions in close proximity include the Cheshire Home (Shatin) and the Bradbury Hospice.
Shatin Hospital provides services in Medicine and Geriatrics, Surgery, Adult Psychiatry, Psycho-geriatrics, Oncology and Hospice Care. The Hospital is also equipped with a Sleep Assessment Unit.
In line with Hospital Authorityˇs corporate direction of seamless healthcare, Shatin Hospital has established Community Geriatric Assessment Team, Community Psychiatric Team and Psycho-geriatric Outreach Team. The Hospital also offers Community Nursing Service and Community Psychiatric Nursing Service.
The therapeutic garden and health track for convalescent patients has been built. The facility is specially designed to enable patients to break away from the confines of the wards and indoor gymnasium, and to receive outdoor rehabilitation treatment in a more spacious and open garden, which will also help them to re-integrate into the community. Phase III of the Garden has been established. It is equipped with a host of simulated transport facilities like KCR and MTR train compartments, taxi and minibus to train patients using public transports despite their physical impairment. Patients are also encouraged to use the facilities after discharge.

Location
Tai Po Hospital is located at 9 Chuen On Road, Tai Po and adjacent to the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nerthersole Hospital occupying a site of 4.46 hectares.
Purpose and Facilities
The Hospital is a purpose-built non-acute hospital which is planned to meet the need in New Territories East (NTE) for assessment, rehabilitation and extended care for the elderly and the chronically ill in various specialties such as medicine, geriatrics, chest, stroke and neurology, psychiatry, general orthopaedic, spinal cord injury rehabilitation and infirmary services.
Being a member of the NTE Cluster, the hospital provides a full spectrum of integrated rehabilitation services and works closely with hospitals in the area to ensure continuity of quality patient centered care. The Hospital also aims at collaborating and interfacing with other health services providers and carers in the community as well as community organizations to initiate joint programmes to promote health and long term care.
The hospital complex has a gross floor area of about 39,000m2 and consists of the Main Block and the Multicentre. Much open space is also planned as soft landscaping and seating area for the rehabilitation as well as space for exercise and physical activities for patients.
Hospital Beds
The hospital started her services in January 1998. Currently, 827 beds are in operation, including 467 general beds and 360 psychiatric beds.
Patient Admission
The Hospital currently admits patients transferred from Alice Ho Miu Ling Nerthersole Hospital, North District Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, and those referred from the central infirmary waiting list. She also admits acute psychiatric patients since October 1999.
As one of the three designated spinal cord injury (SCI) rehabilitation centers in Hong Kong, the SCI unit of Department of Orthopaedic Rehabilitation also provide rehabilitation service to SCI patients of the whole New Territories including Kwai Chung and Tsuen Wan region.

Established in 1969, Tang Shiu Kin Hospital (TSKH) was originally intended to replace the Eastern Public Dispensary and other clinics serving the part of Hong Kong Island to the east of Arsenal Street. It was named after its benefactor, the late Sir Tang Shiu Kin, who donated half of the capital cost. The Tang Chi Ngong Specialist Clinic and the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Units in Southorn Centre were also part of its operation.
The first Accident and Emergency Training Centre in Hong Kong was opened in 1994 at Tang Shiu Kin Hospital to provide training in emergency medicine for Hospital Authority staff working in Accident & Emergency Departments. In addition, paramedic courses were run for other health care providers and emergency agencies such as the Fire Services Department and Hong Kong Police Force.
With effect from 1 April 1998, the management of Ruttonjee Hospital and Tang Shiu Kin Hospital has been integrated. The purpose of the integration is to amalgamate the management and the service provisions of the two hospitals to increase efficiency and to optimise the health care resource utilisation. To further increase the service efficiency and for the benefits of patients, the A&E Department, Tang Chi Ngong Specialist Clinic and other departments in TSKH were relocated to Ruttonjee Hospital in 2002 by phase.
The Government and the Hospital Authority had approved a project to remodel the Tang Shiu Kin Hospital into a Community Ambulatory Care Centre. The remodelling project commenced in December 2002 and the new building was handed over to the hospital management on 1 April 2005. The centre houses a Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic, A&E Training Centre, Family Medicine Training Centre, Integrated Clinic, Staff Clinic, Community Nursing Service, Pharmacy, Integrated Palliative Day Care Centre, Violet Peel General Outpatient Clinic, Wellness In Action and Allied Health Departments including Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. "Hospital - Community Partnership" health delivery model is operated in the Centre to enhance collaboration with NGOs so as to achieve synergy and continuity of care of patients in community.

Wong Chuk Hang Hospital is an extended care hospital providing infirmary and rehabilitation services to elderly patients on a referral basis. Located at No. 2 Wong Chuk Hang Path, next to the Aberdeen Tunnel and facing the Ocean Park and Shouson Hill, Wong Chuk Hang Hospital is a neighbour of Grantham Hospital and shares the same quiet environment.
The Hospital is one of the institutions in the Wong Chuk Hang Complex for the Elderly, which is an integrated development designed for the care of elderly people. The four-storey wards located are the A and B Blocks in the Complex started operations in June 1995. It also provides other services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, medical social services, X-ray, pharmacy, speech therapy, dietetic service and pastoral care.
Special programmes include fall prevention, continence promotion, sore care, nutrition and infection control for in-patients. Respite care service has been provided to discharged home patients since October 1997.
A Dementia Day Care Centre and Continence Clinic have been in operation since November 2000 and October 2001 respectively. The former aims at improving the cognitive, physical and quality of life of demented elderlies while the latter caters clients of the two institutions in the Wong Chuk Hang Complex for the Elderly and the Southern District.
In collaboration with the community and cluster services, the Hospital participates in the Community Geriatric Assessment Team service of the Hong Kong East Cluster.

Centrally located in Wan Chai, Ruttonjee Hospital (RH) is a recently- redeveloped hospital with a history that goes back more than 140 years. It was a naval and military hospital until 1949, when it had been converted into the Ruttonjee Sanatorium, with the support of Mr Ruttonjee and the Hong Kong Tuberculosis, Chest and Heart Diseases Association (Chinese----- Big 5 only). Following a gradual decrease in the number of patients suffering from tuberculosis, the Government decided to strategically change it into a general hospital.
Ruttonjee Sanatorium was renamed Ruttonjee Hospital in 1991 with a doubling of its former floor space area after completion of redevelopment. Three additional multi-level blocks and a rehabilitation garden were constructed. The scope of services has also been strategically adjusted to better meet the needs of the community. With more than 600 beds and 1000 staff, Ruttonjee Hospital provides specialist outpatient and hospital services. Its services include medicine, respiratory medicine, surgery and orthopaedic & traumatology as well as comprehensive geriatric care, with a day hospital, a specialist clinic, infirmary beds and community assessment services. A full range of allied health services are also available.

St John Hospital is located on Cheung Chau Island. Following various expansion and development projects, the hospital now has two blocks consisting of a three-storey hospital block and a three-storey outpatient department block.
It is a community hospital with 93 beds, serving a population of around 40,000 local residents and all the visitors to the island. In addition, the hospital provides infirmary care to patients from Central Infirmary List and local infirmary.

The hospital, with the complement of 130 beds and a staff force of over 260, provides specialist services in paediatric orthopaedics, spinal surgery, paediatric neurology, developmental paediatrics and paediatric dental surgery, serving child patients from throughout the territory. It also provides treatment, rehabilitative services and accomodation for patients over 18 years old, especially orthopaedic patients with spinal problems.
The hospital is a renowned centre for the treatment of paediatric orthopaedic problems such as scoliosis, spinal deformities and cerebral palsy as well as provides treatment for children with neuro-developmental disorder, neurological and degenerative diseases. It also serves as a training centre for local and overseas orthopaedic surgeons, paediatric neurologist, and developmental paediatrician.
The hospital has an excellent reputation in the management of spinal deformities, not only in Hong Kong but also world-wide. Complicated cases that cannot be dealt with in neighbouring Asian countries are constantly being referred to the hospital for treatment.
To further expand its spinal treatment services, the hospital has set up a centre for Spinal Disorders to provide comprehensive multidisciplinary service in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with spinal problems. The Centre is the only one of its kind in Southeast Asia. It will also undertake basic and clinical research and conducts educational programmes for the public on the whole spectrum of spinal disorders.
The Children's Habilitation Institute (CHI) is the only center within the Hospital Authority with the facilities of child assessment services - a continuum habilitation and rehabilitation program. Children with various neuro-developmental problems are managed through a transdisciplinary team approach. It also serves as a model center for habilitation and rehabilitation of children with chronic handicap in China and in South East Asia. In addition, it is the first and only international center to be subscribed for the use of Wee FIM (Functional Independence Measure for children) for outcome measure of rehabilitation.
To further develop into a tertiary center, CHI has expanded its services. History
Planning for the MacLehose Medical Rehabilitation Centre was started in 1979 by the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation in response to the Government's Rehabilitation Programme Development Plan which outlined the need for provision of more resident rehabilitation centres.
The Centre, named after Sir Murray MacLehose, the then Governor of Hong Kong, was officially opened on 7 December 1984. It was the first and only specialised institution for the medical rehabilitation of the physically disabled on Hong Kong Island.
The management of the Centre was transferred to the Hospital Authority on 1 December 1991.
Rehabilitation is a dynamic process in which a person with disability is aided in achieving optimum physical, psychological, social and/or vocational potentials to maintain dignity and self-respect in a life that is as independent and self-fulfilling as possible. (Joanne V. Hickey, 1981)
In order to achieve this aim, our Centre offers inter-disciplinary services. Patients follow specially designed rehabilitation programmes which take into consideration individual needs and limitations. To enhance the re-integration of patients into society as well as to expedite the rehabilitation process, the Centre encourages patients to spend their weekends and public holidays with their families if condition allows. 東華三院馮堯敬醫院是一間專注於老人服務的延續護理醫院，為內科及矯形外科病人提供康復及療養服務。該院亦設有社區老人評估小組，提供社區外展服務。該院共有病床245張(2005年3月31日)。馮堯敬醫院設有老人及內科組(80張病床)、老人康復組(16張病床)、老人骨科康復組(8張病床)、護養組(61張病床)、矯形及創傷組(80張病床)，以及老人日間醫院（22個名額）。醫院並設有理遺診療所、老人評估診療所及老人科護士診療所。
　　本院的日間醫院共有病床 22 位，為整個港島西聯綱的長者提供服務。病者來自本院己出院的院友、專科門診部、住在各類型院舍的長者、在家中生活的長者、瑪麗醫院和其他醫院的老人科轉介而來的長者。同時日間醫院亦包括了本院的理遺診所、老人評估診所、長期療養評估診所及長者健康資源中心。理遺診所為本院住院病者及由社區轉介而來的病者提供理遺的評估及診斷，老人評估診所則為由各間老人服務機構轉介而來及住在社區的長者提供醫護評估服務。
　　港島西社區老人評估小組主要提供外展診症及老人評估服務。安老院舍的院友服務人數為五千名。老人評估服務則包括評估中央護養輪候名冊內的客戶；醫院並為老人照顧者提供教育及培訓。社區外展小組並與非政府機構和社康護理服務合作，為社區內容易發病的老人提供連貫的醫療護理。
東華三院馮堯敬醫院最早原名為大口環護養院。四十年代末，有些麻瘋病者因戰事流落到香港，引起社會人士關注，籲請政府予以收容。一九五○年，政府請東華三院承擔這項工作，並答允撥款撥地。後來東華就在大口環東華義莊前覓得一塊空地，建設木屋三座，作為痲瘋病者臨時收容所，收容一百六十人，費用全部由政府資助。醫療方面由國際痲瘋會香港分會主持，膳食及器具供應由東華三院負責。病者不久增至二百多人。
一九五二年，政府在喜靈洲興建痲瘋醫院，大口環收容所的病人全部送往護養院，利用收容所的設施，增加醫療設備，收容東華醫院的傷殘及慢性病者，以舒緩東華醫院的擠迫情況。事緣當時在東華醫院的一些病人，有些傷殘及年事已高的，實際上已康復無望，院方本著惻隱之心，不可能迫令他們離院，致使有些病床長期為他們所用，無法騰空應付有急切需要的病者。
大口環護養院開始時稱為「東華醫院附設護養院」，設有病床八十六張，收容東華醫院的慢性病者。一九六二年廣華醫院重建時必須拆卸原設於院內的護養院，為容納受影響的病者，大口環護養院重新改革，增加病床至一百八十張。
護養院原有的三座木屋，本來已非常簡陋，萬一遇到火警更不堪設想，所以董事局有意改建為樓高七層的新院舍。一九六四年，適逢東華三院於九龍創辦的護養院第一期工程正在進行，董事局遂積極推進於翌年完成。原來在大口環護養院留醫的九十名病者，於是分批移往該院繼續留醫，拆卸工程隨即展開。一九六六年，大口環護養院新院舍開幕啟用，由東華三院永遠顧問李耀祥主禮。醫院設有病床三百二十三張，除照顧慢性病者外，亦收容外科手術病者及次急性病者。為物盡其用，在瑪麗醫院留醫等待康復的病者，也可轉介到該院靜養。大口環護養院改名為「大口環療養院」，八十年代再改名為「馮堯敬療養院」，九十年代定名為「東華三院馮堯敬醫院」，這在稍後記述。
東華三院馮堯敬醫院
東華三院馮堯敬醫院七十年代仍稱為大口環護養院，主要照顧需要長期護理療養的病人。一九八六年，馮堯敬慈善基金會慨捐五百萬元予醫院全面翻新和改善，工程於八七年完成，翌年易名為「馮堯敬療養院」。
馮堯敬療養院經過多年的發展和轉變，已發展為一間組合多類型康復治療的醫院，並專注長者復康服務。為確切反映醫院的服務性質，醫院於一九九四年改名為「東華三院馮堯敬醫院」。
東華三院馮堯敬醫院於一九九五年建成東華三院楊培鑑老人日間醫院，及後又成立社區老人評估外展隊，與社區內其他夥伴攜手發展長者健康服務。近年更不斷開展先導計劃，以新模式為長者提供連貫醫療服務。
東華三院馮堯敬醫院為復康醫院，截至一九九九年底有病床二百九十六張，一九九九至二○○○年度預算開支為一億多萬元，員工二百三十多人。
宗旨
東華三院馮堯敬醫院內科及老人科部門為港島中、西、南區年長者提供全面的老人評估及治理服務。
醫院持守由多門專科人員合作為年老病人提供全人護理的原則，因此，除處理常見的醫療問題外，內科及老人科部門亦特別注重及早治理老人的心理和功能上的損害，以便病人早日康復。
醫院職員及設施
醫院的內科及老人科部門由一位老人科顧問醫生主管，兩位老人科專科醫生擔任高級醫生，並有七位駐院醫生。
部門內有病床184張，其中24張為老人科及老人骨科康復病床，80張內科病床，另外80張為療養病床。醫院的病人大多數是從瑪麗醫院轉介的65歲以上的年老病人，其他則由社區老人評估小組服務、老人專科門診部、老人科日間醫院、理遺診療所及老人評估診所（專責處理社區老人評估組病人的次急症醫療問題）轉介入院的。
馮堯敬醫院的老人科日間醫院每日有22個名額，由醫生、護士及專職醫療人員為不需住院的病人提供日間康復治理，通常每位病人每週到日間醫院兩至三次。
理遺診療所開辦於1997年，為年長的小便失禁病人提供現代化的診斷、檢查及治理，並設有尿道力學檢查服務。
社區服務
港島西社區老人評估組由馮堯敬醫院多門專科人員所組成，成員包括老人科專科醫生、老人健康科護士、職業治療師、物理治療師、醫務社工及文書人員等，為中、西、南區受資助的護理安老院及私營安老院提供到診服務。小組亦與非政府團體緊密合作，在老人日間護理及綜合服務中心為社區內的老弱長者驗診。衛生署老人健康中心（堅尼地城及香港仔）與港島西社區老人評估組亦從1999年9月起推行了先導合作計劃，旨在及早轉介社區內容易發病的年老病人接受專科醫生診視，並促進衛生署和醫院管理局的健康護理資源得到最佳運用。此外，評估組亦與多間安老院及長者中心合作使用新科技，例如「視像醫療診証」等。
醫學研究
醫院的內科及老人科部門與香港大學瑪麗醫院的老人科及其他學科關係密切，對老年學研究非常重視，積極參與醫學研討會及刊物發表研究報告。

一九七一年，”東華三院條例”通過，並撤銷以前的條例，同時亦賦予東華三院制度，目的及管治權。一九八七年條例再次修定後便沿用至今。
東華醫院是一間以社區為本的醫院。2001年3月31日，共有病床707張，包括62張日間病床（分別設於日間手術中心，另有17張設於腎科部)。另有26個日間名額設於日間復康中心和心臟復康及預防中心）。醫院主要為半山區、中區、上環、西營盤、石塘咀、堅尼地城和摩星嶺居民服務。
醫院主要由外科部和內科部提供服務。外科部的臨床小組組合與瑪麗醫院相同，分為肝膽、上胃腸／食管、直腸結腸、乳房、內分泌、泌尿科、普通外科、整形／頭頸、血管、腦外科和耳鼻喉科。內科部提供普通內科服務以及心臟科、胃腸科、腎科、神經病學和復康內科的中層附屬專科服務。
東華醫院是港島西聯網成員，並與瑪麗醫院緊密合作。為向該院提供有效率的康復支援，已精簡該院病人自動或直接臨床轉院往本院的安排。
過去數年，為應付人口老化、疾病模式趨向慢性病及不斷改變的社區需要，醫院已重整服務，以發展復康服務及擔任以社區為本醫院的策略角色，並注重必需的日間附屬專科發展。由2001年年中起，醫院亦會增設服務，包括設於百年大樓C5的老人泌尿科中心、乳房診所和日間診斷中心。在重整後，藥房、放射學、病理學、醫務社會工作、營養膳食、足科和院牧服務均會加強，以切合新角色和擴展服務。

Based on Buddhist compassion, Hong Kong Buddhist Hospital was founded by Hong Kong Buddhist Association in 1970 to serve the general public in Hong Kong. Hospital Background
Located in the centre of Tsuen Wan District, Yan Chai Hospital (hereinafter known as the Hospital) was founded in 1973 by the Yan Chai Hospital Board of Directors initially equipped with hardly100 beds. Starting as a convalescent-service provider, the Hospital has come a long way to develop into an acute general hospital with the number of hospital beds increasing to 704 (as at July 2006) run by a staff force of about 1,600 strong. Primarily, the Hospital provides in the Tsuen Wan district a wide range of patient care services from acute, convalescence, infirmary to rehabilitation. In 1991, the Hospital was enrolled as a public hospital operating under the auspices of the Hospital Authority.
In addition to catering a 24-hours Accidents & Emergency service, Yan Chai Hospital also provides a string of multi-disciplinary specialty and allied health services to meet public demands. The Hospital also serves as a referral centre for Ear, Nose and Throat specialty services within the Kowloon West Cluster.
F urthermore, a polyclinic providing general and specialist outpatient consultations is also available for the benefit and convenience of the local residents. The General Practice Clinic, apart from providing curative treatments, develops Shared Care Programmes in conjunction with other health-care providers and at the same time serves as a training centre for students in Family Medicine. Commencing 14 July 2003, the Hospital took over the operation of both Mrs. Wu York Yu General Outpatient Clinic and Lady Trench General Outpatient Clinic. Family medicine practice is also introduced in these two clinics aimed at developing pluralistic primary health care and enhancing the delivery of community care.
In line with the Governmentˇs long-term policy to develop traditional Chinese medicine in recent years, the Yan Chai Hospital Chinese Medicine Clinic cum Research Centre came into operation in late December 2003 to undertake clinical researches in collaboration with the Chinese University of Hong Kong. As an initial attempt, research work on Chinese medicine treatment for eczema, allergic rhinitis and SARS patients, made its first stride forward to mark some progress. To meet the different needs of the community on Chinese medical therapy, acupuncture was also introduced in November 2004 and had sustained since.
Since its inception in the field of hospital services, the Hospital has not only over the years witnessed internal enhancement in terms of general effectiveness, efficiency and quality of services, but has further consolidated its service network through hospital clustering to achieve synergism among service units thereby perfecting system performance. Looking ahead, the Hospital will continue to explore further with a view to identifying all possible opportunities for cluster co-operation of a higher degree in order to achieve optimal benefits in the sharing of clinical expertise, supporting resources and other related hospital facilities within the Kowloon West Cluster jurisdiction.
Apart from seeking further improvements in efficiency and cost-effectiveness, the Hospital had also emphasized on delivering a People-Oriented Service. 雅麗氏何妙齡那打素醫院，自1887年由前倫敦傳道會創建，素以基督對病人的關懷、憐憫、愛顧為服務之本，務求實踐基督教會的醫療使命，使人得享豐盛生命。

簡介
雅麗氏何妙齡那打素醫院自一八八七年由倫敦傳道會創院以來，一直貫徹「全人治療」、「矜憫為懷」、「以病人為本」的宗旨，百多年來，薪火相傳，把那打素的服務傳統由般含道年代延續至一九九七年啟用的大埔那打素新院；正如本院院徽由「十架」、「愛心」和「活水」三部份構成，寓意醫院本著十架精神，基督的愛，為有需要的人士提供兼顧身、心、社、靈的整全關懷與醫治。
該院是一間急症全科醫院，總共提供642張病床及180個日間醫療服務單位，並為市民提供全日急診和各專科門診服務。

醫院設有先進的資訊系統，包括約500個在高速聯網上的終端機，並安裝有各式輸送系統：包括電梯(17 部)、小型升降機(2 部)、真空導管輸送系統 (59 站)、軌道輸送系統 (6 站)，及分別處理污衣和垃圾用的輸送槽。
全人治療

Hospital Background
Kwong Wah Hospital(KWH) was founded by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs)in 1911. It came under the management of the Hospital Authority (HA) since1991. The hospital operates a 24-hour Accident and Emergency service, and provides a full range of acute care services, mainly to the population of the West Kowloon and Wong Tai Sin areas. KWH is the major acute hospital in the HA's Kowloon West Hospital Cluster which also comprises TWGHs Wong Tai Sin Hospital and Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital.
KWH has 1,284 beds, and a staff force of more than 2,800. A large scale Major Refurbishment Project was successfully completed in July 1997. The Hospital Main Building is now equipped with modern medical equipment and much improved physical environment to deliver high quality patient-centred services for the public.
In view of the need for further development, a new 7-storyed Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Tsui Tsin Tong Outpatient Building at a cost of $160 million was built and commenced its services in January 2000. The services include General Outpatient Services, Specialist Outpatient Services, Pharmacy, Maternity Clinic, Well Women Clinic, Day Surgery Centre and Allied Health Services Rehabilitation Centre including Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Medical Social Services, Podiatry and TWGHs Out-reaching Home Care Services for Elderly. The hospital is able to provide a better ambulatory services to the community through this modern new building.
On in-patient services, KWH is one of the Neurosurgical designated referral centres in the HA. This service is enhanced with a tailor-made Integrated Neurosurgical Suite complete with CT scanner, dedicated Neurosurgical operating theatre and Neurosurgery High Dependency Unit. In Obstetrics and Gynaecology, KWH is also a tertiary referral centre in Pre-natal Diagnosis. The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ambulatory Centre offers high quality ambulatory care, with the unique feature of integration with the TWGHs' Well Women Clinic.
KWH has pioneered Day Surgery services since 1993, and is currently still the leading hospital in the proportion of ambulatory surgery performed among public hospitals. Meanwhile, an integrated Breast Centre offers a comprehensive range of education, diagnosis, treatment, counselling and rehabilitation services to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of patients.
In caring for elderly persons, KWH has developed a Community Based Geriatric Service which integrates out-reaching specialist services and community based assessment clinics with hospital care and services in Geriatric Day Hospital. In Internal Medicine, KWH runs a Diabetic Centre, a Renal Dialysis Centre in Pamela Youde Polyclinic, and is expanding its Cardiology service following the installation of a fully equipped Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory.
In mid 1999, a modern Nuclear Medicine site was set up in Department of Radiology. With the installation of the Gamma Camera, the Nuclear Medicine service officially started in August 1999. The Nuclear Medicine suite is now providing various kinds of examination including Stress Cardiac Scan, Renal Scan, Bone Scan, Thyroid, Lung and Liver scan to patients from Kwong Wah Hospital, Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital and Wong Tai Sin Hospital. Together with the notably Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Facility and other advanced equipment, the hospital's Diagnostic Radiology and Imaging service is providing comprehensive and enhanced services for patients.

Established in 1975, Princess Margaret Hospital is an acute hospital serving the Kowloon West and New Territories South regions, which include Lai Chi Kok, Kwai Chung, Tsing Yi, Tsuen Wan and Tung Chung Districts. The Hospital provides 24-hour accident and emergency services and a wide range of specialist, ambulatory and convalescent services for patients. Established in 1965 by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, TWGHs Wong Tai Sin Hospital was first developed as an infirmary to treat chronically ill elderly people. It has gradually expanded its role as an extended care institution in which intensive transdisciplinary rehabilitative training programmes are designed for patients to facilitate their early reintegration into society. The hospital has also developed special programmes to cater for the need of those with chronic chest diseases, physical handicaps and complicated geriatric problems.
The hospital also treat patients with tuberculosis and subacute chest diseases. The patient sources come from Chest Clinics under the Department of Health and referrals from other hsopitals in Kowloon and the New Territories. The specialty provides X-ray examinations, lung function tests, bronchoscopies, ultrasonographies and other investigatory facilities.
A Geriatric Day Hospital was opened in 1995 to enable continual care and treatment of discharged elderly patients so as to enhance their early reintegration into their family and their community.
The hospital takes a holistic service approach. Recreational activities are regularly organised for long-stay in-patients as a means to promote psychological stimulation and social interaction. Founded by the Maryknoll Sisters in 1961, it became one of the public hospitals under the governance of the Hospital Authority in 1991. a) In-patient and Ambulatory Care Services

In order to enhance the total treatment and rehabilitation of patients, the Hospital provides a comprehensive range of allied health services, including Radiodiagnosis, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Pathology Laboratory, Dietetic and Medical Social Work. To care for the spiritual needs of patients, the Hospital has also set up a Pastoral Ministry Team. To promote community health, the Community Nursing Service and the Outreach Department provide a seamless healthcare in the community.
d) Community Specialist Services

養和醫院是本港一間設有四百多張病床的全科私家醫院，是香港養和醫院有限公司之附屬機構。二零零二年為養和醫院成立八十周年。
養和醫院的前身是養和療養院，於一九二二年由香港一群著名的華人醫生和社會賢達所創辦，目的是為華人社區提供醫院服務，讓病人可方便地由私人的醫生照顧。
養和療養院的籌辦者購置了位於港島跑馬地的「愉園」，一個在當時廣受大眾歡迎的消閑地方，作為開辦療養院之用。他們將原有兩幢建築物改建後，於一九二二年的九月成立養和療養院，當時共設有二十八張病床。
在療養院成立後四年，兩幢建築物後面的山坡發生山泥傾瀉，造成頗為嚴重的損毀，療養院被迫關閉六個月以進行維修工程，始能恢復正常的服務。
為了擴展醫療服務，當時的董事局認為需要尋覓一位有才幹的外科醫生協助管治醫院。適值前任廣東公醫大學醫學院校長李樹芬醫生回港，獲董事局邀請擔任此職。一九二六年，李醫生正式被委任為養和的院長，負責重組養和的工作。在他的領導下，養和療養院易名為現時的養和醫院。由那時開始，直至其後的四十年間，李樹芬醫生一直兼任董事局主席暨養和院長。李樹芬醫生在一九六六年的十一月二十四日逝世後，李樹培醫生便秉承領導的責任，接任養和董事局主席暨院長之職。李樹培醫生乃於一九二九年加入董事局，並於一九三六年獲委任為副院長，參與養和醫院的領導工作已有七十多年之久。李樹培醫生在二零零五年八月三十一日逝世，由李維達醫生接任養和董事局主席暨院長之職。

醫院歷史
在一八四八年九月十二日，沙爾德聖保祿女修會的修女經海路從法國抵達香港，開始了她們神聖的使命：傳播福音及為世人服務。她們最初在灣仔建立了「聖童之家」收養棄嬰及照顧老弱婦人。她們的服務日益發展並積極推行教育及醫療工作。一八九四年香港發生瘟疫，修女們竭盡所能照顧很多病人。當時修女所收容的，不但是兒童，也有很多老婦人，漸漸便成為一間像醫院般照顧殘疾者及老婦人的救濟所。一八九八年一月一日醫院正式開幕，並附設一所藥房。每年約有二千名兒童及婦女得到修女們的照顧，接受治療和藥物。在本世紀初，灣仔的「聖童之家」收容病人已達飽和。一九零八年一月六日在跑馬地興建了一間會院，名為「加爾瓦略山」會院，由當時的港督盧押爵士主持開幕典禮。多年來，此會院成為一所私家醫院以及年老病弱者的庇護所。於一九一六年，修女們決定把會院正式搬遷至銅鑼灣，即現今之聖保祿醫院。

The United Christian Hospital (UCH) was founded through the cooperation of the Hong Kong Christian Council and the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and it is opened in 1973. UCH, with 1174 beds and a staff force of over 3000, is one of the two acute general hospital serving the population of East Kowloon region.
UCH provides a wide range of specialties, including Accident & Emergency, Medicine & Geriatrics, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedic and Traumatic Surgery, Psychiatry, Intensive Care, Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Radiology, Pathology, Ear-Nose-Throat, Ophthalmology, Neurosurgery and Dentistry & Maxillofacial Surgery. UCH emphasizes on community oriented services and community partnership promoting the concept of "hospital without walls". Related programs include community nursing service, volunteers service, and geriatric and psychiatric outreach teams. The first two services were pioneered in UCH in the 70'. A Health Resources Centre also started operation in November 1995.
The UCH Extension Project was completed in 1999. The redeveloped hospital block (the New Block) has commenced operation in August 1999. Upon the full operation of the two hospital blocks (Block S and Block P), UCH will have a total of over 1400 beds. With the expanded and upgraded facilities, together with the commitment of the dedicated staff, UCH will continue to move along the strategic direction of becoming "a community oriented tertiary hospital of the 21st Century".

Haven of Hope Hospital was founded by a group of missionaries in 1955. The hospital is located near Tseung Kwan O New Town. Under the auspices of Haven of Hope Christian Service and the Hospital Authority, the hospital has gradually developed into a 425-bed rehabilitation oriented hospital with a staff of over 600.
The hospital mission is to provide holistic and progressive attitudes through which to witness the Christian gospel; and solemnly care and respect every individual's life, helping patients and their families to face diseases, suffering and even death with dignity and peace.
The Haven of Hope Hospital provides specialized services in pulmonary medicine, geriatrics, palliative (hospice) care and infirmary services.
The hospital's specialist outpatient service focuses on the needs of discharged patients. The clinical services are supported by ten allied health services and a Clinical Diagnostic Unit which provides multiple quality diagnostic procedures.

Tseung Kwan O Hospital (TKOH) was built to provide quality healthcare services to the growing population in the Sai Kung & Tseung Kwan O districts. The mission of the Hospital is "To provide a level of care & services good enough for our own parents, without the need for special arrangements."
TKOH is a secondary care hospital with strong community focus. Clustered with United Christian Hospital and Haven of Hope Hospital to form the Hospital Authority Kowloon East Cluster, TKOH is committed to foster co-operation with other healthcare partners including the Department of Health, the Haven of Hope Christian Service and private practitioners etc in providing seamless healthcare to the community.
The decision to build the Hospital was announced by the Governor in his 1994 Policy Address. Site preparation started in 1996 and construction works completed by mid 1999.
Starting with the Specialist Out-patient Service, TKOH commenced its operation by phases on 28 December 1999. Day operations began in February 2000 and in-patient services have been in operation since 26 April 2000. The Hospital started to operate 16 hours of Accident & Emergency Service on 26 July 2000 and extended the service to 24 hours from 5 February 2001.
TKOH is the first in the Hospital Authority to adopt the use of the triangular ward setting, which was designed for more efficient patient care. The configuration provides a central, open area for clinical staff to observe the patients and at the same time ensuring the most efficient utilisation of space.
The hospital was also designed to facilitate efficient clinical services, e.g., the Accident & Emergency Department is placed adjacent to the Department of Radiology, and the Operating Theatres are directly linked up with the Intensive Care Unit. The Pneumatic Tube System, which enables speedy transmission of specimens and documents, is also installed in the Hospital.
Occupying a site of 3.7 hectares in an easily accessible area in Tseung Kwan O, TKOH was built as a general acute hospital. At present, there are 360 in-patient beds, 15 accident and emergency observation beds, 20 convalescent beds and 30 day beds. The Hospital provides a comprehensive spectrum of services to the community including In-patient Services, 24-hour Accident & Emergency Service, Specialist Out-patient Services, Day Ward, Integrated Rehabilitation Services and Community Service.
Besides, the Haven of Hope Christian Service and Hong Kong Baptist University Chinese Medicine Clinic cum Clinical Research Centre, located at 1/F., TKOH, started to operate from 7 April 2006. Being subsidized by the Hospital Authority, the Centre is operated by the Haven of Hope Christian Service with support from the Hong Kong Baptist University.

Grantham Hospital is a specialist hospital providing comprehensive treatment of heart and lung diseases in Hong Kong. Located on a hillside at Wong Chuk Hang in Aberdeen, Grantham Hospital enjoys a green and quiet environment.
Opened in 1957, Grantham Hospital was formerly operated by the Hong Kong Tuberculosis, Chest and Heart Diseases Association (Chinese Big 5 only). Since 1982 it has developed into a cardiothoracic centre with 496 beds and about 800 staff. Under the Hospital Authority, Grantham Hospital has now become a tertiary referral centre for treatment of heart and lung diseases. Apart from providing 24-hour service for emergency heart operations, Grantham Hospital also functions as the only hospital in the territory to provide medical care for babies and children with heart problems.
Grantham Hospital mainly provides specialist service in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiac medicine, cardiac paediatrics, tuberculosis, chest medicine and cardio-pulmonary infirmary. In 2003 and 2004, palliative medicine and acute geriatrics service were set up respectively in the Hospital to render more comprehensive patient care service. Day care service for cardiac catheterisation and related procedures, comprehensive rehabilitation service for cardiac and chest patients in the community and outreaching palliative care service for cancer patients in Hong Kong Island are provided.
The hospital works closely with the University of Hong Kong to provide specialist training. In addition, on-going post-basic specialty training programmes are conducted for own nurses as well as eligible ones from other HA or private hospitals of Hong Kong & Macau e.g. Cardiothoracic Nursing for Registered Nurse working in Intensive Care Unit, Paediatric Unit & Operating Theatre.

Siu Lam Hospital
Hospital Background
Opened in 1972, Siu Lam Hospital is a convalescent and rehabilitation hospital providing comprehensive and integrated rehabilitative and infirmary services to adult severely mentally-handicapped (SMH) patients. It is the only hospital providing rehabilitative and infirmary services exclusively to adult SMH patients in Hong Kong.
Siu Lam Hospital provides patients with treatment and training. Apart from medical and psychiatric services, they can benefit from nursing care and supporting services, including social education training, occupational therapy, physiotherapy. An outreach team has also been formed to serve patients in the territory.
Subsequent to the renovation work and an extension project, there is now a bed complement of 300, and the number of staff is 306. To give its environment a lively and colourful look and to improve the quality of patient's lives and help in their recovery, the hospital has been decorated with murals both outside and inside the wards. To assist patients in their rehabilitation, the hospital constructed a complex audio-visual centre at the end of 1995.
A hospital library was set up in mid-1995, to enable staff to update and broaden their professional knowledge and to develop the hospital into a training, research and teaching centre for the provision of quality services to SMH patients.
To enhance the quality of life of the patients, a rehab-bus was procured in 1996 and a rehab garden was also constructed at the end of 1996. Pok Oi Hospital Redevelpment and Expansion
The hospital will be redeveloped and expanded to meet the increasing demand for medical services in the north-western New Territories. The hospital will be redeveloped on the original site by 2 phases.
After the redevelopment, the hospital will be the district hospital with 622 beds and will provide 24-hour accident & emergency service.

New Arrangement of Accident and Emergency Services
During the redevelopment, the accident and emergency service of the region will be provided by the Accident and Emergency Departments of Tuen Mun Hospital and North District Hospital. Ambulances will directly transport patients who need emergency service to these hospitals. The accident & emergency service of Pok Oi Hospital will be suspended at 0:00 am, 1 May 2000.
New 24-hour Clinic Service
The 24-hour Clinic of the hospital will commence service at 0:00am, 1 May 2000 on the ground floor, Central Wing of Pok Oi Hospital.
The Clinic provides medical service for the patients of the region who suffer from acute but minor diseases, e.g. gastroenteritis, stomachache, influenza, fever trauma, mild asthmatic attack, etc. There will not be emergency admission arrangement. Fees will be charged.
Specialist Outpatient Clinic
The existing Specialist Outpatient Clinic will be relocated to the ground floor, Central Wing of Pok Oi Hospital on 1 May 2000.
The hospital will develop Family Medicine Clinic, some of the chronic disease patients will continue to be referred to the Family Medicine Specialist Outpatient Clinic.
In-patient Services during Redevelopment
The remaining beds of POH will be converted to rehabilitation and convalescent beds to support Tuen Mun Hospital and North District Hospital.

青山醫院現有一千三百多張病床，主要的服務是提供精神科住院服務予新界西區之市民，而法醫精神科之服務更是全港獨有。除了住院服務外，青山醫院亦於

截至於二ＯＯ六年三月三十一日，醫院有1289位員工，其中有57名醫生，568名護士，51位專職醫療人員及613名其它職系員工。
特色
青山醫院於1961年啟用，是全港最大及歷史最悠久的精神科醫院。本院大部份病房均可根據精神健康條例接收自願或非自願入院之病人。

Founded by Caritas-Hong Kong in 1964, Caritas Medical Centre is an acute general hospital with around 1,000 beds situated in Shamshuipo. It provides a full range of acute and rehabilitation care, ambulatory and community medical services, including a 24-hour accident and emergency service, general outpatient service, and inpatient and outpatient specialist services in a one-stop setting - so called single episode care. The hospital maintains close ties with its parent organization, Caritas-Hong Kong, and a strong Catholic culture under the motto "Love in the Service of Hope".
The hospital has well-developed supporting services, including Pathology, Radiology, Anaesthesiology and Allied Health services. Other ambulatory and outreach community services include Geriatric Day Hospital and Community Geriatric Assessment Team, Community Nursing service, and Palliative Home Care service. The services provided reflect the needs of the population served - ageing, low income, new immigrants.
Caritas Medical Centre is the referral centre of the Kowloon West Cluster of the Hospital Authority in Eye service serving the entire Kowloon west region. Opened in 1992, the Hong Kong Eye Hospital replaced the Yaumatei Eye Centre as a secondary and tertiary eye referral centre. It occupies a total floor area of 13,065 square metres with a staff force of 230.
It provides a comprehensive Ophthalmic services which includes a triage unit seeing patients with urgent ocular problems. It operates a full range of subspecialty service including Cornea, Glaucoma, Medical Retina,Vitreoretina, Oculoplastic, Neuro-ophthalmology, Retinoblastoma, Paediatric eye and Strabismus.
The Academic Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong is integrated with the Hospital's clinical service. Kowloon Hospital (KH) now has 1275 beds (as at 28.07.2006), mainly serving patients in the Kowloon districts. The Department of Rehabilitation of KH is one of the first being established in Hong Kong. It provides in-patient neuro-rehabilitation, ortho-geriatric rehabilitation and general medical rehabilitation service. KH is also one of the largest chest centres in Hong Kong. The Respiratory Medical Department is the first one to inaugurate a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programme. Services provided by the departments include management of Pulmonary TB, Lung Cancer, Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Sleep Studies and related disorders. The High Dependency Unit of the department helps to serve patient in critical conditions. The Department of Psychiatry provides in-patient services in the psychiatric wards (215 beds) and the Kowloon Psychiatric Observation Unit (180 beds) newly opened in July 2006, which serve the patients of Kowloon Easter Cluster and Kowloon Central Cluster. It also provides Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Service as well. Apart from inpatient and out patient services, which are also provided by the other 2 clinical departments, the Department of Psychiatry provides a wide range of psychiatric services including day-patient service, community care and consultation visits to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Hong Kong Buddhist Hospital. The Department finds the first Psychogeriatric Day Hospital and is the first psychiatric department operating a substance abuse clinic. Apart from that, KH serves as the main support base for convalescent patient from Queen Elizabeth Hospital and United Christian Hospital. It also introduces infirmary service in 1995.
To improve its service, KH draws up a Master Development Plan of the hospital proposing the redevelopment of the hospital in phases. The first phase is to build a new block and to introduce formal psychiatric wards to provide a more comprehensive range of psychiatric service in the Kowloon region. New services such as Central Sterile Supplies Department, Pathology Laboratory and Medical Record are included to further support clinical services. The subsequent phases will be on redevelopment of other buildings subject to further service requirements. The Kowloon Hospital Main Building has been built and handed over to KH in April 2002. The building provides 395 Psychiatric Beds, 124 Respiratory Medical Department beds and 186 Extended Care Beds, making a total of 705 beds (as at 28.07.2006). The building has 11 storeys, the wards occupy 8 storeys of the building and the remaining 3 storeys accommodate support facilities like Allied Health Service, Administration Offices, Medical Social Services, Pathology, Central Sterile Supplies, Medical Records, X-Ray, and Patient Catering etc.
To improve its service, Kowloon Hospital commissioned a new building called Kowloon Hospital Rehabilitation Building with a total of 570 beds (as at 28.07.2006). In December 1999, 2 Rehabilitation wards with 126 beds and some Allied Health services were decanted to this new Building. On 17 January 2000, the service of the Margaret Trench Medical Rehabilitation Centre integrated with that of the Kowloon Hospital and its beds were accommodated in this new Building. A ward with 68 beds was opened in July 2000 providing convalescent support to patients of the United Christian Hospital. Kowloon Hospital Rehabilitation Building also houses comprehensive allied health outpatient services in Kowloon with an annual attendance of 90,074 (as at 31.03.2006).
Patient Resources Centre, Psychiatric Rehabilitation Centre, Kapok Clubhouse, Toy Library and Rehabilitation Garden are other facilities in KH which provides various types of rehabilitation activities for patients.
To further develop linkage of the hospital with the community, the hospital has developed various community services. KH Community Nursing Service provides nursing service for discharged patients. The Community Geriatric Assessment Service introduced by the Department of Rehabilitation, the Community Psychiatric Team and Psychogeriatric Outreach Team set up by the Department of Psychiatry provide structured out-reaching services to the community.

　　良好的医护服务必须通过医护人员的合理配置来实现。以笔者受训的PNICU为例，该部为儿科部下辖的一个独立科室，设14张病床，其中12张按病种分为3个区，2张病床为独立隔离间。病人最多时可增设床位达18～20。该科共有医护人员52名，其中顾问医生1名，负责全面的医疗质量和行政管理，相当于科主任；高级住院医生3名，住院医生4名，实习医生2名，由儿科部不同专业的医生轮转，每次固定半年。护士与床位之比为3∶1，共42名。其中病房经理1名，负责护理行政管理；专科护士2名，负责全科技术指导和教学培训；护士长2名，负责护理质量把关和临床护理工作的督导和管理；机长1名，负责仪器常规管理、调试、保养、维修及备件的购买；健康服务助理2名，负责护理用品的更换和补充、保管等；病房助理2名，负责终末处置和外出勤杂等工作；医疗秘书1名，负责接待、内外联系及医疗文件的统计、整理和保管；卫生员4名，负责病房卫生(要求达到一尘不染的效果)。
　　通过人事的周密设置，各人按职责行事，使病人感到入院后即有一种安全感，一切尽在医护人员的呵护之中。
2　制定服务规范，强化服务意识
　　为了达到理想的服务效果，医院制定了专门的标准服务规范和制度。对医院带有共性的问题，如医护人员着装、环境卫生、器械设置、服务体态及语言使用都有明确的标准与模式。如站姿、坐姿、蹲姿、发型、首饰配戴都有明确的规定；日常对外联络、接听电话也务求使用热情、有礼、得体的语言。患儿入院，护士热情地用礼貌用语全面向家长介绍情况，如洗手、消毒物品、穿隔离衣、帮宝宝换尿布、洗澡等，不厌其烦。通过标准得体的服务方式，向患儿家长表示关心与同情，体现医院的服务水准。把服务规范自然地融为服务意识中，应用于医护实践中。

m高墙壁上设有负压吸引、氧气、压缩空气和电源等嵌入式装置。各种监护设备、中央吸引、中心供氧设备均可随意移动，医疗器具、复苏急救管道均标准放置在仪器架上的固定位置，使用起来得心应手。每张病床配有一套壁挂式中心监护设备，并连接于护士站的中心监护系统，可随时监测心电图、中心静脉压、有创和无创血压、动脉压、氧饱和度，改变任何一插件可变换监测项目。其他则根据病人的情况增设，如神经系统监护仪器、PCA止痛药物注射器、B超、胃肠道营养输注器和动静脉置管系统等。各科可能涉及的病种所需要的设备齐备，并随时保持完好状态。
4　完善培训体系，强化服务技能
　　医护工作是一个终身需要学习提高的行业，因此，玛丽医院十分重视医护人员的业务培训和再提高工作，并形成一套完备的制度体系。①岗前培训。医护人员轮转上岗前，对本科的环境要求、设备使用、病情的观察与处置、文件书写、传呼电话系统使用等，按常规接受5周的培训，其中理论讲课2周，实际操作3周。在完成了培训后才能上岗，工作2～3个月后还要进行考核和验收，以确定是否具备执业的条件。②形式多样的讲座。讲座平均每周一次，时间为1～1
h，多在午间业余时间进行，由医生、专科护士或高年资注册护士主讲。其讲座内容由每年初排定，分部实施。危重、特殊病种或新仪器设备的使用等则临时安排讲座。讲座力求简洁实用。③不定期的培训班。对较重要的专题，如心肺复苏、除颤、肝移植、血液透析等，均组织培训班专门进行培训，由专科医生、专科护士主讲、示范和督导，医护人员分批参加，但均用业余时间。④医管局培训。由部门根据医护人员的表现、特长、工作需要等情况安排参加医管局组织的培训。不同职位、不同工作性质分别参加适合自身工作岗位的培训学习。如护理管理培训、专科证书培训、监护技术培训等，时间数日至半月不等。⑤海外培训。即选派优秀医护人员到美国、英国、加拿大、澳大利亚等参加某一专题的培训。这类培训公派极少，多是自费利用假期参加，以形成自己在科内某方面的特别专长。如院内1护士自费用业余时间赴英国专修造瘘口的护理，因其技术和手法的专长而在院内独树一帜。⑥深造文凭。大多数医护人员利用业余时间参加深造文凭的学习，获得本科、硕士、博士等学位或资格。
　　此外，玛丽医院还为大陆、新加坡、澳门、菲律宾、斯里兰卡及香港本地一、二级医院和私家医院的医护人员提供培训。
　　通过全方位的培训体系和竞争机制，医护人员的业务技能始终处于较好的水平。
5　提高服务水平，塑造医院形象
　　医院十分重视院内从业人员敬业精神的培养和服务态度的提高。在PNICU我们看到：全体医护人员对工作都十分认真负责，高年资医护人员言传身教，低年资医护人员勤奋向上，蔚为风气。医护人员间相互帮助，和睦相处。
　　每个医护人员为病人考虑得无微不至，对有可能造成病人不良影响的任何微小因素都力求避免。如使用仪器需贴胶布，都要先贴一块人造皮肤，再将胶布贴于人造皮肤上，从而避免胶布直接接触皮肤；为保证婴儿休息，设计了漂亮的布套罩在暖箱上面，并于暖箱和病床旁贴一些亲人照片。家长若愿意，还可放一小录音机于箱内，不时放一些柔和的音乐和父母唱的摇篮曲，尽量给患儿营造一个接近家庭、温馨的环境。一切操作尽量集中进行、尽量减少打扰病人的次数，以保证病人足够的休息。医护人员除按规定的用餐、饮茶时间，绝不离开病床，即便有病，也都约定在下班或休息时就诊。病房为出院病人设置了热线咨询电话，2
